Wow this is really sad and a great loss. As was mentioned, Paul really always took the high road on everything. He helped untold numbers of people on the HDF and was always so kind and considerate. He will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace

GLOW is good, I just talked to him via text. He hadn't heard of PFC's passing and will check the forum later on today when he gets home.

This is one of the very first forums I ever visited and I remember when I finally started to post PFC and L2W were always ready to help and make newcomers feel like they were communicating with long time friends.
I am so sorry to learn of this truly sad loss to this forum all of the members and friends but mostly so so sorry for his family I must and will keep them in my prayers, RIP PFC.

I know how you feel, my friend. I had the same kind of experience with both L2W and PFC5. I have nothing but good memories of both and am glad I "knew" them, I certainly learned from them which is a very positive thing. I have to find a positive and smile for them which is what I think they'd want.

If I am not here come tomorrow, please smile for me
If you find an occasion to think of me, know I am free
If I changed you life in any way, I hope it was for the good
If I am not here come tomorrow, please smile for me

for our fallen brothers

I joined around the same time as Paul and always enjoyed interacting with him, and enjoyed his postings during "the Wars" I had nothing but the utmost respect for him even during our posting confrontations he was never condescending or disrespectful, he was a gentleman above all and never lost his temper. As he often said, and had posted in his signature .... "It's always better to take the high road" and that's what he always did.

Such a terrible loss to all the people he touched, and helped and left behind. He always had time to try to help someone resolve their problems. And judging by his demeanor, and his caring ways, I know where he is now, hopefully enjoying the fruits of his life. He expressed his love for his youngest son that he cared so much for, and how happy he was that he had him in his family. And brought him so much joy during his life, he was a real loving and proud father and I'm sure a wonderful husband, that was his nature.

I know there is nothing that can be said to his Family to comfort them in this time of heartbreak and despair, other than to let them know how much he was loved and respected by all, and how much he will be missed in his silence, here and everywhere.

Rest in peace, Paul.

til we meet again.

PFC5 was the guy who helped me feel at home right away here when I joined back in 2006. We shared a lot of format war memories, not only of supporting HD DVD, but of helping to keep the peace in a very volatile and "wild west" type forum (the active moderation back then was negligible). Paul was always the cool and level-headed guy and like Rizzo said, rarely if ever lost his temper.

He was usually one of the first to answer questions and he treated newbies as if they were one of the guys and always welcomed them to the forum. He was very knowledgeable in most areas of the forums and was sought after for advice very frequently via PM and visitor messages. As a result he was extremely popular here and his friendliness was contagious. He will be sorely missed, for a long long time. I wish the best for his family and I hope to see Paul again in another life.
