Default Vizio near deal to replace Samsung as NFLís HDTV

Perhaps no two things are more central to the NFLís success than TV and beer, and the profits they bring to the league and its partners.
I thought it was Sony??

None the less

This is one of those things that simply makes me scratch my head... Just how much $$$$ does a company pay to be "the official anything for anybody" and why that would lend any credence to the product for any potential buyer is beyond me.................Fools will follow any lead, Bring on the Sheep. Wasn't the Ford Pinto the "Official car" of the National Auto Safety Organization............

...My point is that the public swallows up that Samsung is the official HDTV of the NFL......soooo what! Does that make their products better, more reliable of course not! The average public simply takes the tag line with a couple of valium and comfortably and numbly go out and buy Samsung.............geeesh someone get me a razor and a towel.

Imagined interview

Samsung: Errr hello, yes we are the "Official HDTV of the NFL".

Interviewer: Did the NFL select your company to represent them?

Samsung: Errrrr, No

Interviewer: How did you become the Official HDTV of the NFL?

Samsung: We, errr, paid a lot of money to the NFL for the right to be called the "Official HDTV" of their product.

Interviewer: Did you specifically engineer any of your products to display football better than any of your competitors?

Samsung: Er....ahhhh, no there are no special impliments to our products that make them display football or any other sport better than anyone elses product

Interviewer: So why should a potential consumer buy your product for NFL viewing over the competitors products?

Samsung: Errrr, aahhh, because we are the "Official HDTV of the NFL"

Exactly marketing is everything, and Samsung is very good at it, especially with those dumb edge lit LEDs.
