More weak ass excuses/deflections in an attempt to cover up the fact that you said this could never happen. The licensing fees were too high, too many components...the laser is too expensive...blah blah blah.

Lee Stewart: ~0-38 and counting in his HDM predictions since 2007.

One thing we know for sure is that they'll never ever ever ever ever ever go below $99. That much we do know, for contain, without a doubt.

Funny thing about that is...Walmart always prices things with an "8" at the end. I believe the OP is off by $1, since other forums are reporting the same player at...........................$98 dollars.

No.

Thats weak.

All the Father's Day outships to the stores have pretty much sold through, and that boosted about 120,000-200,000 Blu-ray hardware units sold nationally in the Wal-Mart system from Fathers Day week on.

It might be end of season inventory pricing for the units but it still establishes their low end price point for a Blu-ray player.

If its true its another milestone.

I think I over stated the price by 2 cents, minus tax.

The Magnavox is not there, it looks like end of season for it.

It has been completely removed from their site which means one of two things. Either the item has been discontinued or they want to make sure they have plenty of players for in the stores for the $98 sale.

Great! I just bought mine at the $128 pricepoint during Fathers Day.

I coulda' saved enough for a couple more movies.

One thing I will say about the player(other than being uglier than sin) it actually performs quite well. The disc load time blows away my Tosh HD-A3! Plus it plays every Blu title I have tried with no hiccups.

Of course thats what happened to Circuit City HD A3s last year.
