Speakers that large actually aren't that surprising, if one comes from a musician type background.

I had speakers that large, but not for home stereo/video purposes.

(My old guitar and bass amplifier setups had speakers that huge).

Here is the front stage of my budget mancave theater..Its an 84" screen..I used some screen paint and then built a frame out of 1x4 painted flat black...I'm saving up for a nicer projector, but this will do in the meantime ..I still have to hook up the Polk center channel..The sub is at the back of the room, about a foot away from my couch (cheap version of butt shakers)..All in all, I have spent about $1,500 for the entire set up..I'm pretty happy with it for now, but I can't wait to get a nicer projector!!

Displays are like 100% cotton t-shirts. Always buy a size larger than you think you'll need, because they tend to shrink over time.

Professional reviews of displays are an excellent tool, but the final decision should come from using your own eyes.
