Guess what Warner is "suppossely" leaving HD DVD for good but will release I Am Legend!

[quote]Warner Bros. will release "I am Legend" on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray.

The 2 disc DVD and Blu-ray release will arrive on March 18th. The HD DVD will follow on April 8th.[quote]

I really don't understand the release date delay thing. This obviously puts BD in a better position because people will get the impression (J6P) that it's only on BD HDM and then after many have bought the BD one the HDDVD one comes out and then they can say in their numbers that the movie was more successful in BD over HDDVD cuz they got beat on the release date. Pretty unfair advantage.

Oh well what can you do? I don't get the logic....

The release lag thing stinks to high heaven, IMO. I am not going to by the blu version of any of WBs releases. That is just my way of saying FU to WB for doing this kind of thing. Since BD has such superiority now, why stoop to this kind of thing when they have "already won"?

I agree, there really is no need to do this at all imo. They know they might have wounded HD DVD fatally with their move, after all their pledges of dual format support. OK, rumors are that the switch to blu really is made to end the war and i agree with the motivation, as painful as it might be. So at least they could have had the decency to keep their neutrality until the may deadline, sort of saying "sorry, but we did it for greater good". It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I intend to buy the HD DVD versions of WB as long as i can, then i will switch to BD though. I am too adicted to HiDef to say otherwise, its prolly clouding my judgement.
