Default Current HD DVD Supporters.. Don't give up!

This goes out to all the HD DVD supporters:

Please ignore the chest beating and negativity by some posters here surrounding WB's sudden change. You know why you supported HD DVD in the first place, it's quality and price as well as selection of movies. If we give up now, it will have been a waste of time and for nothing.

We KNOW that HD DVD is a DAMN GOOD PRODUCT. That fact does not change!!

I bought 3 HD DVD's today and will buy no more BDs. Screw WB and BD for this type of action.

Again, HD DVD is still a fantastic product! Don't act on your emotions and throw in the towel.

Time to rally around the format yet again. Underdogs do win!

I'm going to buy Blu-ray since I need HD content but....
I was having a conversation last night and we realized it is the first time in format wars that less consumer friendly format becomes the dominant format and money played way more part in it that what people actually wanted...
But whatever. Sour grapes I guess. Sad to see HD DVD go. The most underrated complete underdog format of all time.....
I expected more from Warner which I thought used to be the best studio....

I don't mean to thread crap stu, but oblio is right... that said Huddersfield Town did beat Birmingham who are a premier league football team today, and a lot of "underdogs" have been beating bigger football teams in todays 3rd round of the FA cup.

I just can't see anything Toshiba can do to stop WB's decision killing HD DVD. I will continue to pick up the HD DVD titles I want, particularly new releases, but I honestly thing yesterday ended HD DVDs chances of any victory.

me apologies Stew. Me glee got in the way of common sense. Glad you slapped me. Warners decision is a good one either way. If they had went with HD DVD - it would have been just as good. Hopefully we will see an end to this format war and get on with HD inception for the masses. As you know, me enjoys both formats - and will continue to purchase both formats as me desires. You also know that me main reason for supporting BD is for the home video & burning market. Toshiba has ignored this market. If Toshiba had offered the same as Sony, LiteOn, Plextor and others, me sentiments would have been stronger for HD DVD. You also are aware of me thought's on the profile issue, which me gives little creedence to since the fluff does not appeal to meself and many others. Profile 1.0 BD will continue to play just fine in me household.

Ok Mike, your message is clear, but I'm with Stew. If HD DVD doesn't throw in the towel then I'll continue to support the format. I can't be optimistic of course, but that doesn't mean I should give it up. Besides, I won't buy Blu-ray anyway and HD DVD is certainly better than DVD.

Bruce, I'm not trying to crap on you, but I do think there is a bit of a reality check needed on here. I will fully support all Paramount and Universals releases that I desire, but as you've said yourself, being optimistic for HD DVD now is becoming pretty much impossible. At least Warner Bros picking 1 side was great for HD as a whole.

I'll buy HD DVDs, so long as they are reasonably priced combos.

That, IMO, is the only way they will still sell to the truly neutral crowd.

I never took it like that, Mike. This is the biggest news event of the war so far. I remember Paramount and Blockbuster, and forums were wild with people saying all crazy things. It always lookest bleakest when bad news first occurs, and it's also realistic to take that into account as well.
