3D and 2D on the same disk - effect on PQ?

While I have the 3D afficionados present, I will add this other side question about the Pirahna 3D + 2D disk:

Just posting this because I am interested in the technical aspect of it:

Watching the 2D version with my friend and he picked up a moment when the 3D effect appears. It is a really brief moment when the little girl is trapped on the island and is waving her hands in the air for help. Her hands waving are showing the 3D visual effect.

It has been confirmed that this effect is present on another users Canadian disk, so it is not a unique fault on my disk.

Any idea about how this might occur?

When you say; "are showing the 3D visual effect" - what exactly do you mean?

I'm guessing he means how the movie looks when you don't have your glasses on. Slight double image? Think he's saying that scene does that.

Correct, her waving hands look like you are watching 3D without the glasses.
