Default so was mine

The stand on my Samsung was already attached as well, and the instructions showed how to attach it. I think Samsung, and for that matter of a lot of companies do this, I have purchased many items that have assembly details for parts already assembled. One reason could be if someone needed to remove, or put the stand back on when mounting, unmounting the tv from the wall.

If that is your only reason for concern (the stand being attached), I wouldn't worry. When I brought my HDTV, the stand was attached too.

My guess, the companies do it to save space in the packaging and probably makes it more stable to ship.

If the tv fit into the box correctly with the stand attached, it was shipped that way and shouldn't be considered used. If the box was open or the tv was put in loose, then it's a problem.
My two Sammy LCDs came with the stand attached and the box had packing to fit it in with the stand.

I have purchased 4 Samsung LCD's. First two were below 20" and stands attached. Last and most recent ones were 40" and stands were attached on those as well. Clearly, it makes them much more stable in the packaging.

As someone else mentioned - instructions are there in case you need to remove stand and then reinstall it.

BB would not be selling you used TV unless it was marked that way (I seriously doubt it)
