Default Streaming Movies Through Netflix??

I still don't have my flat screen but will very shortly. It will be my main TV in the living room and will have a computer hooked up to it all the time with a wireless keyboard/mouse for surfing.

I was looking at the Netflix service and saw they offer online movie streaming. I'm wondering if anyone has used it on their TV's yet and how the quality is.

I've read a lot of info about them not having new releases and such but I'd still be interested as long as the quality is good on a big TV as opposed to a 17" monitor.

I just watched Daniel Tosh's comedy special on it on my 32" LCD the quality looked pretty good, don't know about an action film though with the movement and audio quality as mine was just a guy walking on a stage and talking....lol

Maybe someone else can chime in on the action movies, or I will watch one coming up shortly.

It all depends on connection speed or bandwidth really. With low bandwidth internet connections the quality suffers as they stream in higher compressed stuff and will likely show up ugly on bigger screens.

OK, let me post a review. I just got my TV this week and the next day hooked up my computer to it on my wireless network.

I'm using a 15' VGA cable and about a 10' long 1/8" cable for sound. My computer was pretty good when I got it about 2.5 years ago. @ gigs ram and a nice video card, can't recall it. Nvidia 6800 pci express 256 or something like that. I'm using a dvi to vga adapter for it. TV is a Sony kdl 40v3000.

The first thing I had to do was install the windows updates to make it compatible with Netflix. That worked fine. Within minutes of installing the updates I was installing the netflix software and watching streaming movies through netflix.

I've watched movies from netflix on my computer but was curious as to the quality on a bigger tv. I must say, the picture quality was pretty good. My wireless router is about 20' from the computer and I have a booster antennae on it pointing fairly close to my computer. It shoots through 3 walls and I still get great reception. The quality from the netflix site was ranked at the highest setting.

The picture and sound was good while streaming movies. I was impressed. The movie I watched was "Mean Girls" because that's the first movie I came across on the website that I had actually seen.

I think some of the settings could have been better on my TV because I didn't calibrate the PC input yet, only the cable settings. Once I calibrate the PC input then I'm sure it will look much better but even still, everything was great.

I'm hoping the movie selection gets bigger and better with more name brand movies but I give 2 thumbs up to streaming movies on your large lcd.
