Default HDMI input question...

I have an LG 65EF9500 4K OLED that I bought 2 years ago. When I bought the set there was very little 4K content available. Now there are several shows on both Amazon and NetFlix available in 4K as well as other sources.

I randomly plumbed the HDMI set inputs as...

1. DVR
2. Directv
3. Apple TV 4K

Yesterday I noticed the 4K signal seems much sharper with my Apple TV 4K on an Amazon broadcast.

I then switched it to my "smart" option on input 2 and there and the same show was not nearly as sharp even thought it also show

Both playbacks were streamed over the same ethernet input signal.

Today I was looking at my LG manual and it shows HDMI 2 as (ARC). Wondering what "ARC" means?

I replumbed the set to...

1. DirecTV
2. DVD
3. Apple TV 4K

And this seems be show the 4K Amazon broadcast the same, using either the Apple TV 4K box or the Smart LG Amazon option.

Audio Return Channel
This is the input for a Home Theater Receiver (5.1/7.1 ) and it will send 5.1/7.1 from smart TV back to Receiver

Thanks for the replies. I guess it doesn't then matter which HDMI input I use since I don't route my sound through my audio amp. I use a sound bar fed by optical cable.
