Default Let's ask ISF Experts: What's the Best TV, Brand/Technology

Since ISF calibrators see many different brands and types of TV's I'd love to hear what they would, or have, purchased for themselves.

Any ISF guys out there willing to comment?

The best is a display that they have calibrated!

I posted this some time ago. It answers some of what you are trying to find out....

http://www.highdefforum.com/showthread.php?t=26449

Displays that have all of the necessary controls are those which we like to calibrate the best.

Problem is, even when we tried to formulate an ISF friendly chart found here... http://www.isfforum.com/viewforum.ph...1d85a36ea00783

We were simply buried with new displays that changed their internal workings faster than we could keep up. The list on the first page of descriptions are those that we look for in a display.

If you have a cable box as your tuner & some form of audio system [receiver, amplifier & speakers] IMHO, the Panasonic plasma monitors are the BEST available...without taking out a 2nd mortgage!!!!!

http://www.isfforum.com/chart/ISFChart.htm I noticed this list of about 40 models only shows 2 LCD flat panels - 1 ea. older Sharp and Sony XBR1 -
I think (direct-view) LCD flat panel has advantages for casual -not dedicated HT - use -
Is the tepid ISF interest due to lack of pro controls or "percieved" user operational deficiencies.
I guess you answered a similar question here http://www.highdefforum.com/showthread.php?t=36213
