Default All New Problems for the XBox360, So Long Red Ring

Just a FYI! After the fiasco of the RED RING (3 for me), it appears Microsoft maybe in trouble again. After buying GTA4 yesterday, and eagerly wanting to play, I was GREATLY disappointed. Much like when I bought Halo 3....I fire up the system, nothing happens.

Apparently, Microsoft is now dealing with the Blue Screen of Death on their 360's. Yes, much like the hated blue screen of death on their old PC's, the XBox 360's are beginning to report blue screens.

After talking to tech support last night, they are sending me a entirely new box, which is the good news. The bad? I have a brand new copy of GTA4 unopened. They tell me 3 weeks, I tell them I'm taking GTA4 back and getting the PS3 version. I still play COD4 on the PS3 because I had no 360(red ring) once it was release.

BEWARE of the Blue Screen of Death.

Oooof sorry to hear that. Happy to say touch wood, that it's been 2 years since my last Xbox 360 issue.

LOL. I too was running fine for about 6 months (or whenever Halo3 was released). From what I hear, this maybe becoming a MUCH larger issue.

From what you hear? Forgive me but I just spent the last 15 mninutes looking up any information on the blue screen and I can't find much.

Engadget has an article from 2005... LINK

Wikipedia showcases that the original XBox had a BSoD problem... LINK

An article from 2001 about the original Xbox from C-Net... LINK

Apparently Leopard is having some BSoD problems... LINK

I'm just not finding anything current that is showing that the BSoD is a huge problem for the Xbox 360. Now, I don't doubt that it happened to you... all computerized electronics are subject to the BSoD from time to time (even the Nintendo DS)... however you provided no links to what you "heard"...

Basically it's just FUD until you can prove otherwise. If you can prove that this will become a huge deal from whatever sources you have then that'd be great. Consumer awareness is what we need to get this kind of shit fixed.

Why didn't Cygnus report on this first?

If he had, we'd have missed the golden opportunity of thinking Eddie's HDF account had been hacked.

It's a widespread issue, you know.
