Default No More Heroes (Wii)

Anybody else planning on picking up this game? I have been watching it closely for the last few months and it looks absolutely awesome. Sof ar it has gotten a metacritic score of 90 and GameTrailers gave it a 8.2.

For those that know nothing about the game, it is a very violent free roaming world (like GTA but no car theft) where you play a guy names Travis Touchdown (eccentric name, but then so is the game). After accidentally killing an assassin while roaming around the town you get sucked into a world full of assassins and rankings. You go through the city trying to increase your rankings by killing various assassins with your beam katana (lightsabre).

The game's graphics are VERY stylized (just like Killer 7) and look really good. They aren't ultra-realistic, but again this is a Wii game not a 360 or PS3 game. Anybody who has been looking for something mature and fun for their Wii should definitely give this one a look-through. You might find something you like. . .

I plan on picking it up today or tomorrow, whenever it gets shipped to my local GameStop.

Here is a video review:

That game looks bad ass, although its not as open world as a game like GTA is but I love the style it is represented in more than GTA.

This is a game I will definitely be checking out, Thanks for the heads up KEEBS

I'm getting it the second I can. I'm so tired of Wii games being shitty, looks like the first kick ass game for that system thats 100% original (and not just a port)

Also one of the few kickass Wii games that wasn't made by Nintendo.

This game already failed in Japan and now it's going to fail here. No Wii owners care about hardcore games.

I'll wait for the PS2 port...

Is that why Metroid Prime 3 garnered more sales than Uncharted during each of their release weeks? Probably in total sales too. . .

Because Wii owners don't care about hardcore games. Is that what you are saying GLOW?

Seriously. . . you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

Oh look, what do you know it? I was right:

You proved absolutely nothing. The PS3's userbase is miniscule compared to the Wii's. Metroid is an extremely well-known franchise and Uncharted is just the beginning of a franchise.

I'd expect a smart college buy like you to come up with a better argument than citing sales numbers. You're comparing apples to oranges.

No. . . I am simply proving to you that there IS a market for hardcore games on the Wii.

Metroid Prime proves this. . . as does Red Steel, Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, and Sonic Rings.

Not all Wii games have to be minigames to be successful. . .

Soo than with your logic GLOW is it fair to compare HD DVD to Blu Ray.. I mean after all the PS3 is a BRD machine and adding those to the equation makes the install base of Blu Ray Disc players far larger than the petty 1-1.5million estimated* HD DVD players(I am combining ad ons)..

Oh thats right I almost forgot, it's ok for you to negate a comparison such as the one KEEBS brought forth. However you have no problem spouting off mindless dribble to try and prove your point..

*To say Metroid is a well known franchise is opinion and nothing more.. We all know the userbase of the Wii is young kids or adults, yes I know there are some in between but most gamers if presented with a choice of only one console will usually lean towards either a PS3 or 360.. Soo with that in mind how many kids actually know about Metroid or who Metroid is? Yes Metroid may have been big back in the late 80s and early 90s when she was King on NES and the Gameboy advanced.. But how many people even know the new Prime is the 3rd installment in the Prime franchise? I would wager very few would know that, or that there was almost a 10 year layoff between Metroid games until the gamecube brought it back.*

Take away what I said about what franchises are well-known and what aren't and my argument is still more solid than KEEBS'.

And no, that Blu-ray vs HD DVD analogy is terrible. Not everyone that owns a PS3 bought Uncharted.

Touche GLOW...

I was looking for more of a debate than this to be honest (sorry for crapping on your thread KEEBS )

Come on though my argument about BR vs HD DVD is not that bad is it? I mean not everyone who bought a Wii bought Metroid, so with both games having an unknown userbase than it is apples to apples and not console vs console which would be apples to oranges no? And that was what my point was, at least I think thats what it was anyways....

Anyways I blind ordered No more Heroes and I hope its as good as it looks to be ..

So what were everyone's thoughts? I rented it from GameFly and I'm loving it. Played it for like 3 hours straight on Saturday. This is what Killer7 should've played like. Graphics are very Gamecube but it has a cool visual style. The voice acting for the main character sucks HARD. Open world is pretty weak; if there's a racing mini-game in this I'm gonna punch someone in the face.
