Exclamation Sony: Xbox Live is Static, 2D and Can't Match HOME

As per TeamXbox:

Sony: Xbox Live is Static, 2D and Can't Match HOME
By: César A. Berardini - "Cesar"
Mar. 9th, 2007 3:10 pm

Speaking to Three Speech, a sort of official unofficial PlayStation blog, a Sony spokesperson has provided some answers for those of use that claim the new Home service is simply a rip-off of Ninteno Miis, Second Life and Xbox 360 achievements. When asked if Home isn’t a rip-off of Xbox Live, the Sony representative said:

Home is a first of its kind 3D community that allows for open interaction between consumers, SCE and third party partners. It is a truly interactive, global community of users. Xbox Live is a static, 2D, text-heavy environment that can’t match the rich community features found in Home. Xbox Live community interaction is much more passive and limited to the members on that friend’s list.

Someone should tell this Sony representative you can send voice messages and have voice chat conversations; plus, when you get the Xbox Live Vision camera, you can also do video messages and chat.

After Sony's weak and cheap response, we still believe Home is just a copy of the best the Xbox 360 and Wii have to offer. To read more responses from Sony regarding Home, click here.

Sony is on real crack, although PS3 home will likely be a hit in Japan since those people really like stuff like that. Look at all of the PS3 games that don't even have online support, as there is still not much of a integrated central service like XBL. I wonder if Microsoft is planning on something similar to that, as it's entirely doable on the X360 as well.

Got dang it Sony, just come out with some amazing games and stop beating around the bush to try and persuade people to get a PS# by things like "Home." Let alone they had almost two years to learn from their top competitor, I wonder where they got a lot of their ideas :/

The only thing that makes me get a system is games, so Sony has done everything but it seems.

Well, most think its a great idea on the Sony PS3 forums! I myself am excited too and hope to be one of the Beta testers. I believe the games will eventually come but until then, just admit that this will revolutionalize the interactive community and they have made something that XBL dosen't have! Stop hating so much for a change! XBL is nice and inventive and so is this. Its funny how the junehhan criticized Sony for this idea then turn around and states "I wonder if Microsoft is planning something similar!" This shows how intuitive the idea is and it has grabbed his interest! I think Sony has something here and all ready people are complaining. Give it a chance before you criticize.

Okay, well I tell you what. Murcielagos are pretty sweet cars, no? Well I have this idea that makes the Murcielago static and "2D." I'm going to buy a Murcielago and throw in a sweet beer cooler in the center console. Oh my, so evolutionary. I'll turn my nose up at any other Murcielago.

Man, all they did was take Xbox Live, Sony-ize it and throw in some souped up version of what the Wii already has. They have no creativity whatsoever. And then they want to talk shit, which makes me laugh.

I don't feel MS has to copy anyone. They are the leader with Live, and have their own mandate to follow. MS had a solid network to begin with, which is much easier to develop games for rather than vice-versa.

Nah, I don't hate Sony. I have nothing wrong with PS3s, but I don't get it when people take an original idea that wasn't theirs, throw a little extra crap in and then call the original idea inferior beyond comparison instead of giving credit where credit is due. But then again, this happens with many aspects in life. I actually see it a lot everyday at work and school (engineering).

Hell Im not critcizing it....Ive said in here before I thought it could be a cool idea.....but A)why worry about something like this when there are NO KILLER APPS yet. RFoM/Motorstorm are out there but even at that,2 games? I actually want Sony to give me a reason to buy one of these damn things...but HOME is certainly not it. Me personally, and Im certainly not alone...even PS3 owners want one thing right now...KILLER APPS.

I think that posts about Sony stealing features is just written by jealous people that are mad because
they know that people who got PS3's are getting PS3 features plus some of their's.
People who are in it for the pure gaming won't even bother arguing about this, if you find your console fun, that's
all that matters, leave graphics, features and drives out of it,
but if you actually need to proove to yourself that your console is the ultimate one and all others are wrong
you're not a gamer, you're just trying to make yourself feel that you got your money's worth.

I don't think that anyone's jealous, I think it's just a matter that with everything Sony ever comes out with, they talk it up, make it sound like earthshattering, groundbreaking, revolutionary technology and say that everything else in existence is crap compared to their new gizmo. Every freaking time. If they were right, that'd be one thing, but how many formats haven't they come out with that have failed or are in the process of failing (UMD). The PS3 is leaps and bounds above everything else, so they claim. Maybe 3-4 years from now it might be better, but not so far. If you listened to Sony though, everyone with a 360 might as well be playing PONG because the PS3 was so revolutionary, powerful, and cutting edge.

If in fact they've just taken components of XBL and the WII's online system, and Sony-ized them, they really don't have anything to brag about.

You know what, give me a link to an OFFICIAL statement by Sony that XBOX360 is crap and that
you might aswell play pong on it, unless you're just saying that because everyone
else says so, I'm so tired of people who just think they're right because they go with the mainstream.
What does this have to do with formats by the way?, in case you mean the blu-ray, than yeah,
the blu-ray is a wonder of techonology, no other disk out at the moment that has that much memory,
TDK even said they managed to make one with like, more than 100GB's if not double, so what is your point?,
can't Sony be proud of it's hard work?

You obviously dont know what you are talking about, hence no reason to respond to this post in any other way than what I am doing right now.
