Default Borderlands 3 is a hot mess

So I fired this game up and although the game play itself is good old borderlands the optimization sucks.

DX12 was super broken at launch and doesn't seem to have gotten any better. True I do try to run at ultra on native resolution - 3440x1440 but I am running a ryzen 7 3800x, RTX 2070 SUPER FE (with slight overclock) and the frame rates are atrocious. Typically in the mid 40's. Driver's recently updated and like 2 days old. Every once in a while the fps will shoot up. A quick search on the interwebs show that this is common and often turning settings way down doesn't even have an effect. I think I am going to go back and see how it runs on DX11 instead of DX12.
BL2 could pretty much run on a potato and easily pushed over 100fps (also at 2560x1440 with a 1070 got 90+ framerates). Gonna play around with it a bit but come on Gearbox - dropped the ball again.

So it's a little better now, getting upper 50 frame rates which is fine. Played a few hours over the holiday weekend. May end up turning shadows and ao down a bit to see if I can get solid 60+ fps or perhaps explore before experience recommendations but they often suck

You should get 900 FPS in a cell shaded game
