Default APEX Legends

Anybody playing this? Kind of like Fortnight but better IMHO. 20 teams of 3 battle royale but there are classes and each class has special abilities - no building. Pretty fun. I suck at killing people but can usually stay alive pretty well and offer support. Game is free (Battle pass for $$ if you want).
CHeck it out and perhaps some of us can play as a team.

I played it a few times with some friends... Couldn't really get into it. I'm pretty much done with battle royale games. Apex has great mechanics; they should have an arena mode. It's totally wasted in the battle royale format.

I hate battle royale games, like, with a passion. So I played a couple of games, and utterly hated it.

That's pretty much how I am now. I enjoyed Fortnite for the better part of a year... But when I stopped being better than everyone else, I quickly began to hate it and the entire battle royal genre. Its just such a waste of development resources, to throw away on a stupid battle royale format where you spend your entire match hunting for weapons only to have a few actual fights.

I've been playing Monster Hunter World again. Cooperative murdering of indigenous species. It's the most American Japanese game I've ever played.

Yeah, you hit it on the head. When you have to sit there and scavange through the map for weapons, it naturally places players at a disdavantage, and most of the match itself is focused on finding a weapon adept at killing other players, and most of the time you're picked off before you even see who is shooting at you. It's a terrible genre concept, and I have no idea how in the fuck it's doing so popular.

It totally killed any desire to get BO4, and Fortnite, Apex Ledges, and the weird medieval one i played are all trash imo.

The FPS Genre is really struggling atm, I feel.

Yeah true. The good news is Halo: MCC on PC including REACH

So fuckin hyped. Literally my favorite game ever coming to a real platform where it won't be hamstrung at 20FPS

Agree totally. Dabbled here and there and faced the same frustration. I think what it has going for them are 1) free 2) on any platform and 3) it requires no work. There’s no leveling up, no lobbies based on tiers, no accomplishments to get certain guns.

Fortnite made an existing and somewhat thriving (on PC) genre noob friendly, less hardcore than PUBG and accessible to the masses. Throw a pretty decent game at everyone for free with a cool totally new building mechanic, and the world latched on. Apex is just riding Fortnite's coattails. Eventually they're all going to run out of new ideas

What I am worried about is that we are getting ready to see the birth of Freemium games that are pretty much pay to win for consoles. Entice people with a free game, hook them in, and then watch them spend far more money than a new game would have cost. I would much rather buy $100 for an Ultimate Edition like with Forza that comes with every extra than to get a free game and end up having to buy pieces of it like with nearly every game for tablets these days.
