Question Thoughts on a new gaming TV

So my 65" plasma bit the dust (3 blinks on the power indicator). I just have to wait now to see if it can be fixed. So have any of you guys bought a new OLED recently? My daughter and son-in-law have a Sony A1E and say it's fantastic. I've checked out the Z9D also but lean towards the OLED.

After 7+ yrs of attending Robert's HD Shootout and seeing the progression of TV's and becoming friends with several of the top Calibrators and techs I was convinced OLED was the way to go. I was just leary of being a test subject I waited till all the highly questionable charges were proven ie longevity, burn-in PQ dependability, etc. I decided to jump in and I haven't had one regret I was astonished with the 'out of the box' PQ and dependability had been proven to my satisfaction. And then I was following EASTCOAST TV's sites offerings and on a Sunday night I checked and they had a super price with free delivery and no tax and a weekend bonus $50. additional off. I leaped on it I had to play the EC game of post-purchase badgering (ie white glove del BS service contracts etc) but in the end I got it for 1485.00 total I've been delighted since the PQ is amazing Blacks are BLACK.
Hope this helped.

I've had the Sony XBR* the best rated LCD by CNET and then the XBR 929 anothe super set. And this set blows them outta the water.

If you can afford an OLED get an OLED it's not even a comparison. Though I did see a huge top end XBR in this multi million dollar home I was working in recently. It was pretty fucking good looking!

Agreed but cost prohibitive $$ for $$ LG is the winner, my son bought the Samsung QLED and was disappointed had problems from the start. He bought from PC Richards here on LI they've exchanged the set three times already.

I have a Samsung and love it. But it's a couple years old already. I have the ks8000, 65 inch. It's not as nice looking as the OLED but at the time was also half the price.

I've recently moved over to a legit gaming monitor and I actually really don't like playing on my 75" 4k TV anymore. Sitting at a desk isn't as comfortable as my theater recliners, but a nice Secret Lab Titan gaming chair helped quite a bit.

144hz, 1ms... Just can't be matched with a TV.

I'm about to get a 21:9 25" ultrawide Acer Predator monitor

OLEDs are still super susceptible to IR and burn in right?

I have the same set as Razor, but the 55". It has incredibly bad image retention compared to the previous Panasonic I had. I'd rather go OLED for picture quality on my next set, but with as much gaming as I do, I have concerns.

I played Spiderman for like 5 hours straight with no problem on my Samsung SUHD. I imagine the QLED's are the same. I don't know if it's an issue with OLED's.

not a gamer but I've never experienced 'burn-in' watch news constantly with scrolling lower insert all the time 8 hrs+ a day.

QLEDs aren't affected by it. They are essentially an LCD screen with smaller but more intense dots.
