correct, I wouldn't use OLED for gaming. IR is very real, despite what people say

the PQ of OLED is nice, but there are a few reasons why I buy all mid-range LED's now. First, the source material is worse. I stream almost everything now. Cancelled DirecTV, almost never use Blu-Ray. Secondly, LED has closed the gap quite a bit. My last two sets were a curved Samsung 7500 and a flat 75" Samsung 6300, and the PQ is great.

But for gaming, I've moved exclusively to the 144hz monitor at a desk

awol yours is a VT50 also? For the 6 years I've had it, there's been no IR or burn-in. IDK but I've always tried to be careful with stuff like that.

I really like gaming on a bigger screen and want an OLED. My daughter and son-in-law have the A1E and say they love gaming on it.

I was mistaken. It's the TC-P55VT60.

But yeah, the IR is unreal. I'd never really noticed it until playing Final Fantasy XV. And now, I can't unsee it anywhere. The FFXV images are gone, but I see the new ones from more recent games.

My VT60 was destroyed after like a year of playing Destiny

Honestly I thought I liked gaming on a huge screen until I started playing on a monitor. This ultrawide 21:9 monitor is godly. Greatest thing I've ever bought.

I have been telling you this for years. LMAO. Why do you think a hardcore PC Gamer like myself always scoffed at using a big screen?

Or bothered buying the xim4, to play my xbox/ps4 at my desk?

You now know! You've reached enlightenment!

Nah, doesn't apply. Back then you were gaming on 21" monitors that refreshed at 60hz. Fuck that shit. I'll take my 75" Samsung and theater chairs over that garbage all day

I'm talking 35" 21:9 144hz 1ms. Big difference. Also, I went all-in and purchased a $400 Secret Lab Titan chair. Without a great chair, desk gaming can kinda suck IMO. Even still, gaming at the desk isn't nearly as comfortable. It's almost all about the advantage that the high end gaming monitor offers. Also the fact that headphones are a must for many competitive games, so the 7.1 surround sound isn't even being used... Kind of a waste.

TBH there are still certain games that I'd probably rather play on the big TV; casual games that aren't super graphics intensive, like Zelda BotW for example, or most/all console games. But the competitive games, being on a high-end gaming monitor just offers such a massive advantage over a TV not designed for games.

Also my main destiny/fortnite buddy finally built a PC so I don't ever play those games on Xbox anymore, so it kinda made sense to just go all-in with the PC/desk/monitor setup.

And finally, the XIM is so trash compared to actual KBM. Played with that damn XIM for the past 3 years, including 1 year of fortnite with the XIM. I'm so happy to be done with the XIM, and consoles in general. Playing with a mouse WITH aim assist destroyed my aim, took weeks of practice to re-adjust to no aim assist, but now I can aim significantly better without AA than I could before with it.
