Default Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Picked this up yesterday from Steam and after a couple hours I must say this may be the best looking game I have ever seen (1440p seems to be the sweetspot for me but also visually stunning at 1080p) -truly incredible. So far it is a story of a girl- viking warrior, with mental issues who is going to Hellheim to try and get an apparent love resurrected. Talk of Jotunheim, Niffleheim, etc. The only drawback so far is that there is not enough combat. The combat when it does arise is great - similar to God of War (light attack, Heavy attack, melee, dodge, block).
Game is made by the same people that did Devil May cry.
Currently on sale for $15 on steam and that also got me a VR version for those of you with a vive or rift.

If possible play with headphones as the voices in Senua's head (she has psychosis) sound real.
83 on metacritic both pros and users.

Even if you don't get it I HIGHLY recommend going to metacritic and seeing the video showing how they do real time motion capture and made this game - truly remarkable

IIRC, it's more similar to an interactive novel as opposed to a game. Like the Tales games?

A lot of it but there are sequences of. Real combat which is excellent. Otherwise kind of a third person environmental puzzle solver.
No dialog choices or alternate story lines

That game looks very stressful. I watched a streamer playing it a while ago. I got Tales of Besteria in a Humble Bundle last month and installed it on Sunday. It's surprisingly good. Like a Final Fantasy throwback to when the series was actually good. I highly doubt I'll even come close to finishing it, but probably will get a good amount of play out of it.

There is a warning blurb in the beginning that the game was made with psychologist / mental health experts and may be disturbing to some as well as the first opening credit IIRC is to the mental health consultant as well as some contact info. Usually if you hear the whispers in your head your'e on the right track. . Through the first couple stages. 1st boss fight was really fun. Wish there was more combat but otherwise loving this game. Rendering at 1440p and displaying on 55" 4k screen everything maxed is jaw dropping.
