Picked this up for cheap and I have to say it's pretty fun. I sunk 5 hours into it almost immediately. It has a lot of archaic systems but very modern graphics. As is right now it's a solid 70/100 game just treating it as an exploration sandbox.

If this is what it is now, 2 years and 80 patches after launch I can understand why it was hated in its initially release.

That said it's good to support developers who do the right thing and this developer definitely did. I am sure I will sink a lot of time into this because it checks a lot of the right boxes for me. Just don't expect a crazy story or anything like that. You need to want to make your own game with minimal guidance. It's worth the 25 I paid but not a nickel more.

Wish I had time to play games like this. For the last 4+ years I've been pretty much competitive multiplayer only, usually sticking to 1-2 games. Right now it's Fortnite or bust, but I've been working in a 2nd playthrough of Zelda: BotW now that I can lock it at 1080p/60

I work a 50+ hour week, but I try to make sure I get in an hour or two of gaming every single night. It makes me happy. That's why I bought the gaming laptop. I don't want to disappear on my family, but I still want to be able to play games. Plus now that my daughter is getting older we play things together sometimes. So long as it isn't an oversexed murder simulator. Which, most things I play aren't. I'm still not sure if I'll let her watch RDR2 when it comes out. But Horizon Zero Dawn has been great, as has this game.

Oh I have plenty of time to play games, I just always play the same game. Played Destiny for a good 2.5 years straight with very few games in between, then had the full summer of '17 with no Destiny and I caught up on other games. Then fall of '17, D2 came out, hated it, switched to Fortnite, and have played Fortnite almost every night. No time for *other* games

Since starting my 2nd job teaching at local college, from August to end of May 7:00 am to 9:50 pm workdays doesn't leave much time for gaming and can't spend my entire time on weekend gaming. I was so looking forward to this summer to gaming and although I have gotten some gaming in I got some new gear this spring and really started to get more involved in photography and videography have spent most of my "gaming time" out and about shooting pics/video and trying to learn solid editing. Miss my gaming time but really enjoying exploring other activities and getting my ass off the couch has been good for me.

Last night I found a planet where every creature got around by bouncing. I don't know what sequence of events lead to that planet being generated, but I'm glad it did. If you're ever on the outter edges of the galaxy and see a star sector named, "Bounceroo 7"... that's mine. lol

What are your specs?

I just finished all my parts/pieces acquisition for my new build.

i5-7600k (factory clock speed), 16gb DDR4, 970 GTX, Cemu emulator installed on an SSD

CPU is the most important factor in running BotW at high FPS, although if you want better than 1080p you'll probably need a better GPU

Just got my 8600K installed over the weekend. 16GB RAM and a 1070. I would install it on my SSD. The only thing is I don't know if I'll be able to find a ROM now since they cracked the whip.

Your crack the whip comment made me curious and I discovered the Wii U usb was discontinued. My old 1.5 tb legacy HDD (one of several in my pc) that had all my wii U content died a little while ago. It was nearly 15 yrs old so got my use out of it. Reddit and google indicate there are some alternates and a fix if you are willing to poke around a bit and make adjustments. I had rwally enjoyed the latest Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi adventure and Mariokart 8 so well worth it if you really want to play.

Last I had played BOTW with a i5 4690k (no custom overclock), 1070 16gb ram and the mod JR told me about I could run locked at 30 FPS

This guy's youtube channel is the only source I use for anything regarding Cemu, here's the setup video for the latest version, including how to get ROM's. AFAIK, only one ROM source was shut down by Nintendo. I doubt you'll have any trouble

I was getting around 40FPS before a more recent version of Cemu allowed for an easy locked 60FPS.
