ah, so that's what the floating cat meant when he said "have you noticed the walls have eyes?"

Yes there is a second blacksmith (IIRC) it is Tomei's father. You earn him on the 4th island . IIRC from a sub-mission. Make sure you've done them all. Some sub-missions are on the same screen as the main mission and his have to toggle between them. He opens up "ascension" of weapons to +1, +2 status etc. I have been farming to get to him. Also sure enough there is a damn "poison swamp" area only it is in a castle. Keeps you from using your elixir which sucks!

Really loving this game. I've only lost a stack of Amrita once (and I absolutely raged when it happened) but without that possibility for losing progress, I don't think it would be as intense/fun.

I just beat the boss in the caves, the lady boss who re-uses sound effects from the Alma fight in Ninja Gaiden. Actually, she reuses a lot of the mechanics. I beat her first attempt because the fight was so familiar

God alma on master ninja was like the hardest fight of my life. But once I beat her it was so damn satifying.

I know, it was insane. Dude in the clip above makes it look easy but it was actually one of the hardest things in a video game ever

That mission on the docks on the water with the black blob things is fucking pissing me off. Falling in the water and dying is just fucking stupid. Is it 1986? Video game characters should be able to SWIM FOR CHRIST'S SAKE

Yes that mission is frustrating but in retrospect and after doing it recently as a twilight mission I have grown to like the level design.

Spoiler:
make sure to light all 3 beacons before fighting the level boss

If you start to teeter on the edge you can save yourself. Also ninjas in Armor in 1600 would sink

The giant jelly boss of the level that Rambo's describing was tough to me.

I roll with light armor, under 30% of the weight limit. Basically ninja street clothes. My dude would float

lol, I didn't worry about encumbrance in souls but this game is much faster so I stay pretty light too. With all my best defensive Armor on (mix and match) I am at 43% but often I wear the complete Warrior of the West gear for the set bonuses which takes me to like 60% but still in the green.

I just really like the longer roll/dodge that comes from being in the blue. I play the game pretty fast

Not sure if you are far enough in but there are weapons that scale with decrease in armor (as well as ones that scale with certain stats)
