There was a time when my deductions were more than the standard . No longer. I come out ahead though. I pay way less interest on my mortgage now and that vastly outweighs any tax break I used to get.

this inane russia hysteria is absolute horseshit & the fact that democrats are putting so much time & energy into this rather than any of the billion useful things they could be focusing on proves that they're still hopelessly out of touch & will continue to lose, probably forever. im probably not even gonna vote this year. we need another party (understatement of the year)

We're trying to get the LSC (Libertarian Socialist Caucus) to gain delegates at the libertarian party convention. There is a major LSC-DSA alliance going on right now, maybe throw support their way? -shrugs-

In all honesty, do you think there is ever a chance that an actual 3rd party can get a real fair chance at ever winning? I know they campaign and run and even get votes, but seriously, do they ever stand a chance of actually having a third viable choice or will it always be R vs D? It just seems like both parties control everything always and have the money to outbid or silence everyone else.

I think it's possible, but it will take years. Independents/Libertarians/Green etc took more votes this year than ever. And they likely will continue to grow so long as we're handed shit candidates.

Hopefully the blue team has learned from its mistakes and will vote appropriately moving forward. Hillary was not the better candidate to win. The most experienced, yes. And likely the most capable of doing the job. But she is one of the most vilified and hated politicians of all time.

idk im focusing a lot less on elections these days & a lot more on socialist base-building

elections won't fix the problems we have; trying to change the system within the system is more or less a fool's errand imo

If another viable party springs up it will take the place of one of the others. My personal guess is that it would be if the Republican Party is no longer viable and many conservatives move to the Democrats thereby making the Democrats the new conservative party and pushing the other side off into a new left party.

If the Democrat base splits in two then one of them will replace the Republican party? Even if that happens it would take many, many years, and in the meantime we'll have 3 parties with the Republicans dominating the 3 branches until their numbers dwindle to less than either of the other 2 parties.

So many things I would substitue in place of that word "traitor". But really they're in addition to. I haven't seen piggy try to step back on what he said yet either.
