Well went through Gears 4 campaign on normal. I enjoyed it as I found there was more of a storyline and the graphics/effects were up a notch. The characters were very well done and the cutscenes blended nicely with in-game play. I haven't done any MP yet but really want to try the new Horde mode. This chapter leaves it open for a Gears 5 for sure.

Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariendel DLC. 6.5/10

My least favorite DLC in the series. It's very short; I found every area, enemy, and item in 3 days of gameplay (could be done quicker if motivated). The design is lazy; only one or two tough/creative enemies, the rest compensate by just ganging up on you. The optional boss is not only easy...but a giant wolf. Yes, another one. The level design is bad IMO; the areas are hard to navigate because everything looks the same and major things like cranks that have to be turned are hard to find/see. Most of the items, weapons, and spells you find just plain suck, save a few notable exceptions that are kinda awesome.

Here are the things I liked though:

* There are 3 Titanite Slabs to be found!
* World/story is interesting. Takes place in a painted world, similar to Ariamis.
* The final boss (the non-optional one) is an incredibly tough and fun fight. Very challenging; my successful attempt lasted like 20 minutes long in NG++. Took me several tries to beat. Great fight.

Ok Titanfall 2 was one of the best campaigns I've played in a while. High five to Respawn on the great job they did.

XCOM 2. 8.5/10

It was an incredible game and the gameplay was challenging and fun. I would give it a 9.5 except for two things:

(1) No controller support like the first game - lame, lame, lame. It has Steam Controller support, but nobody wants to play games with that piece of shit so kb/m it was.

(2) I ran into some pretty annoying bugs. Some of them were most likely due to mods I was using, but there was no way to troubleshoot/test/fix that since the game requires you use the exact same set of mods on the entire playthrough - either stick with all your mods or start over entirely.

The last level was fucking bonkers and if you didn't go in prepared I could see losing the whole game on that last mission, especially in the last room. It was totally insane

This is the best review in this thread or any previous year's iteration of it

Undertale: Nifty little JRPG like indy game. Combat is different, it's like a JRPG mixed with bullet hell combat. It's short, and to the point.

7/10

Characters were interesting, dialog was written well enough. Graphics suck, but that's well outside the point. three different endings, depending on how you play. You can kill everything, spare everything, or a mixture.

Recommend for those that enjoy indy cult games, It has about the graphics of a SNES era RPG.

Ended up playing it with my 11 year old niece when I had her over the weekend.
