Oh yeah. Story lacks big time. It's the online play with friends that keeps me coming back.
Thanks for the run earlier .

The story is buried in the Grimoire, which is only accessible from Bungie's website or the Destiny app. It still doesn't make sense since none of it is in any kind of order. However, there are fan made videos on YouTube that unscramble the Grimoire and tell the story.

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak

Rating: 8.5

Fantastic game, if you like RTS games. If you've ever played the original game, and beaten it, this is the origin story, a prequel to how you leave kharak. The story was top notch, the game play was fairly polished. They did a great job of adapting the space-based gameplay of homeworld, to a ground based RTS. Definitely recommended.

Thanks I am an RTS Junkie so will eventually give it a try. Currently d/l Ashes of the singularity which is a different type of RTS
1) It runs on dx 12 so it has additive gpu powers (will utilize my integrated gpu on cpu as well as my 970) and also requires a 4 core cpu as it is highly multithreaded and will also offload gpu to any free cpu threads.
2) it is not about micromanagement and building units as fast as you can but rather macro-management and end game strategies

It features armies of thousands of separate units all reacting in real time. Will let you know how it turns out - most reviews are fairly positive to great.

Just finished remastered Uncharted 1 & 2. I know they are old but I didn't have a ps2/3 (was an xbot) so they were new to me. 1 was a little dated in it's mechanics and layout but 2 was stellar. I would probably give them an 8 and 9 respectively. Looking forward to 3 (and eventually 4 but probably won't happen until after I play the snot out of Dark Souls 3 which drops next week.

I thought DS3 was already out? People are already playing it in fact... someone has already beaten it on a speed run in less than 2 hours.

Final Fantasy 9 (STEAM)

7/10

Pretty decent game, has one of the better gameplay systems of the older titles. Story is great, but the character writing is god awful. Most of the characters are 2 dimensional, and shallow, in one example a character (Eiko) is a 6 year old girl, but has the mannerisms and personality of a girl going through puberty. The young protagonist thing is pretty popular in japan, but some of the characters in this game stretch it way beyond believabillty.

Graphics for the PC port are pretty decent, they upgraded the character models, and spell effects, but the backgrounds are still the same as they were on PSX. So visually impressive, if you've played the PSX version, but meh overall, in the grand scheme of things. The Art style for the game may be the worst thing about it, all of the characters are super-deformed and cartoonish, which is a major step backwards(especially from FF7 and 8 the latter of which have a very modern realistic artstyle.) and the only title in the series that I can recall that does this. In the final cinematic, as one of the main characters sprints through a crowd of people, she runs past several children who look to be twice her size.

Pretty much my largest complaint, it doesn't really get in the way of enjoying the game, but if you're overly critical of things like that...

If you like final fantasy, and the old school world maps, long grindy side quests, but were sick of the science fiction direction final fantasy has been going, this one is a call back to the old school titles on the SNES.

I know JR would hate it.

And that right there is exactly why I loved IX. I hated (no really, can't believe I finished it hated) VIII. Story was stupid, setting was stupid. Characters were gay. Yeah. I said it. Find your spells from a well? Da Fuq?? Limited usage of them without regard to MP? Meh.

But it still wasn't as bad as X. I at least finished VIII.

I actually really enjoyed 8, aside from the shitty junction system. Yeah squall was an emo bitch, but I thought the story was well written.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't even in the same realm as FF6. But I thought it was comparable to 7. I'd have given it a B-

You can level up in 8, are you thinking of 10, with it's bizzare circular grid (similar to 13)?
