The problem is if everyone does that to circumvent the spam deterrence of the 5 post rule, then we still get a lot of frivolous posts that clog the threads just as must as the spam does. Clearly with your knowledge you could have found some threads that could have interested you to enough to reply to fairly quickly.

We have to consider all members and we are deleting/banning more than 20+ spammers every day here to try to keep the threads clean. No one wants to wade through the spam which is WHY we have the 5 post before linking rule.

Thanks again for your understanding of this rule and I hope to see you posting more as you have already shown you are a valuable new member.

But, why 5? Why not 3?

I'd already be done. But, I've got to do 2 more b/c it's 5.

As it is, I'm posting a link that I didn't even test b/c I really didn't have the time to do so. But, in the mean time, I'm wasting even more by posting so I can post!

It doesn't make sence,....it stops spam bots but forces the users to write posts like in this thread

It isn't just for spam bots but for spam in general - we do not want you making dummy posts just to post a link. Try and become a valuable/useful member of the forum - either posting something useful or makng a simple inquiry and in no time you can post links. Too many people come on and after a post or two start with the spam links. Once somebody has shown they can be a member of even minimal value (by either contributions or seeking knowledge) they can link away - consider the 5 posts 'probation' until you can show you are a responsible poster.
