Panasonic TC-L37S1 vs Samsung LN-37B550

The prices are similar (the Samsung is $50-$100 more expensive). Which of these LCDs should I buy? Is the Samsung worth the extra dough? It seems to have better specs but I've read Panasonic has better build quality.

It's for a small Brooklyn apartment with a minimal amount of window light. I'd probably be 6-8ft from the TV.

Should I go in another direction? I've got $800 to spend.

Traditionally, Panasonic are known for their plasmas, not their LCDs. The opposite goes for Samsung. I'm very happy with my new Samsung LCD, which I believe is a similar model to the one you presented.

i concur with BigBills139.

However, coming from someone that has owned 4 different Samsung products, the quality is not something to be proud about. Their products always leave something to be desired. Thus, I now steer away from them (and anything else made in Korea for that matter).
