I have a G1100 router. No external antennas.
that's a pricey router at $149-179. it better work good. it's more than the average routers. looks like the new routers have more speed but lost range.
how many walls does it go through?
is it more powerful with better range?
where did you get it?

This router and all previous routers worked well.

I rent this router.

It goes through walls and floors.

I use an Amped Wireless R20000G router, one of the best high powered router's you can get, 600 mW output on both bands,(most other routers are only 200 mW) with two removable antennas, you can replace one antenna with a directional one to punch through almost anything.

ok, thanks. i might look for something with an external antenna. There are better performing replacement antennas from the original.

The expense of a run of Cat6 once should suffice for years and eliminate the questions/concerns/expense/frustration of trying to get a wireless solution to work well with a website. Or any website.

Maybe the problem is with the ISP and/or perhaps the host server/traffic of the content provider. Not wireless.

Just a thought...

a

yeah, a wired ethernet is best but i don't want to use it. The reason i don't want to run an ethernet cord is because i have an elderly in the house. They don't want cords running around the house under the carpet. Another possibility is go up to the attic and come through a ceiling vent. I need to stay wifi for now.
The wifi is working ok. I don't know if it's the provider because i have just one website with a problem of interruptions. Everything else is fine.

So that would leave that one website suspect as I suggested.

Better to properly diagnose your issue with that one website as opposed to going to any expense.

Again... if it's only one website, "wireless" is probably not your issue.

well maybe not a wireless issue but like i said before, most modern routers are for speed and lost range. If in the same room as the router the signal is xllnt. leave the room and the signal goes away. im not that far but maybe a little too far for this router. plays ok.

Update. I've spent some time watching the REV'N website both on my HTPC and my cell phone via the wireless adapter. Both have the video freezing from time to time, so it is definite the website has an issue.
