Default OLED tv's and standard def. media

I was recently at the mall, and surfing the new 2017 LG OLED TV's. The picture on the 65 inch was stunning. A fellow patron remarked that his neighbor has an LG OLED, and that any standard definition content viewed looked a lot worse( blurry and low color fidelity) than on a standard HDTV. Is this true for all the 4K TV's?

I have a 55B6P(2016) series and it's amazing. I get my programming from Optimum Cable I find all my programs are exceptional with the exception of a couple of lo quality Broadcast channels The set steps up programming to 'near' UHD quality. The Blacks are pristine making all the other colors outstanding some time 'almost' 3D'ish

I just received my LG OLED65B7A (black Friday deal). Even with my limited knowledge and familiarity of the calibration settings. I was able to produce a picture that was stunning with all media, when compared to my old Panasonic plasma. If I do a little web surfing, I'm sure I'll find some technical guidance to help fine tune my tv for an even better display. Any suggestions?
