Default Is this a good tv

Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

It will be for a bed room to watch tv, movies, sports, and play ps3 on. I have enough money for this tv now that its on sale but would like some input if its a good tv.
Theres also a 46" LG on sale but when I worked at bestbuy I always thought the samsung pictures looked better

Plasmas are actually better with game playing since they have pixel response times that are at least 2,000x faster than the fastest LCD, and virtually no video game lag like many LCDs have. You just have to be careful if you play games for long hours straight with static elements like a bright HUD on a game. The COD games are not a problem because they change the screen completely between each match. We have played for many hours on my plasma with no issues. So check the games you may like to play for hours at a time without breaks and see if they have constant portions/elements that always stay on the screen. If they do not, then you can get a bigger screen often for less money compared to a good LCD model.

Well I set my PS3 to auto dim and to auto shut off after a set time, and I also set my Panasonic plasma to auto shut off after 3 hours automatically as I often fall asleep with movies on so these things combined should solve you problem with that. I have no issues with this setup, but I do not know if Samsung plasma have that auto shut off feature like the Panasonic plasmas have.

No. Only if there is a static image left on the screen. I assume you do not go to sleep looking at a static picture on your screen right?

true I haven't shopped around much. I was in target today and they had a panasonic plasma 600hz next to a samsung lnc630 with only 60 hz and the plasma did look a lot better. Im a noob with this if I do look for a plasma whats better 120 hz, 240hz or 600hz.

Still considering the samsung lnc650 though

Plasma's only come in 600hz. LCD's have 60hz, 120hz, and 240hz.

You can go with the top of the line 2d Plasma with the Panasonic TC-P42G25 for $799 plus a free speaker system.
