Default Now I can get my HD locals on 61.5!

A few days ago, I e-mailed the Dish CEO with a very polite e-mail informing him that a lot of people on the East Coast are unable to get line of sight to 129, and they therefore have to use an antenna in order to get their local channels in HD.

In my case, this meant that I had to have two dishes and an antenna in order to get everything in HD. I ponted out to him that the woman of the house tends to have the final aesthetic say on what happens, and that although my wife was cool with this arrangement, there would be plenty of lost sales if a particular house was going to need an antenna in addition to a dish or two dishes.

I asked why the locals couldn't be bounced to 61.5 so that folks like me could get their local HDs without requiring an antenna.

Guess what....when I got home from work yesterday, all of my locals are now available in HD on 61.5. maybe DISH had so many inquiries of this nature that they decided to act. Who knows.

In any event, if you live in the Atlanta area, you can now get your locals in HD on 61.5.

Dish was planning to move Atlanta to 61.5 for some time, they were uplinked several weeks ago with the activation date already determined. Your e-mail was just lucky timing.
