Default Indianapolis HD Locals - Channel 75?

I noticed last night that there is a channel (#75) that has something about HD locals. The channel currently does not work, but does this mean my area (Indianapolis) is about to get locals in high def? Maybe this has been there for a while, but I definately have not noticed it before

It has been there for a couple of months now. Every HD mpeg4 receiver gets that channel whether you already have your HD locals, getting them soon or not/never getting them. If you select it and it gives you the not available message, there is no new info for you. If your locals are up or have changed, this channel is supposed to give you the info you need in order to get them. I have not heard much as to whether it is working correctly or not.

Thank you for the information! I guess I was getting my hopes up all for nothing - that channel does nothing right now

I for one, am getting tired of waiting for Indianapolis locals while smaller markets are getting them left and right.

I watch more network TV than anything else and if by the fall TV season, I see nothing about Indianapolis locals, I'm probably going to have to go to cable until our local telco gets their version of U-Verse.

In the Grand Rapids market the same thing happened. Channel 75 showed we had local HD channels availables. In that market, I had to get a second dish to get the locals in HD. I could not get them on my one dish. If you call Dish, they will tell you whether you need another dish or not.

Everyone gets that channel 75. HD locals are not available yet in Indy.

That message only showed up right around the time the locals were available in HD. It probably means they will be released soon. Call.

That message showed up for everyone, I have had HD locals since Feb of 2006 (the first ones offered) and I get it. If you tune in the channel and get info then call, if you get the 'not available at this time' message, don't bother since they are not.
