Default Losing the battle?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this:
You can not get a list of HD channels from Dish's website. The only page available has a table with many small icons representing the channels.
Thinking i was missing something, i initiated an on-line chat with one of their reps - the amazing answer he gave me was "this is the only list available". (referring to the icon table)
I asked if this is what he expects new customers to base their decision on, and got no answer at all. I might have got a crappy CSR, but i'm under the impression that dish are trying to keep this information hidden, otherwise it would be easy to find on their web site.

here is the icon table dishnetwork. com/content/our_products/dish_hd/programming/index.shtml
Can't post links yet..

Thoughts?

Not sure what the title of your post refers to, but this is actually a reversion of sorts for Dish. A long time ago (when they were the HD leader with like 4 channels plus locals) they used the channel logos to represent their selection. As it grew, they moved to a standard looking table that was less pretty but easy to read. I guess they liked the asthetic look of the logos, so they went back to that. I agree it is hard to read, not becasue they are hiding anything, but just becasue they picked a bad size for the .jpg.

It is not hard to read, it is impossible to read in my opinion - how can i know what does the yellowish icon stands for???
Where is the textual list ?

And the title refers to the dish/direct HD offering. I can't see any other reason to hide this list.
I'm really puzzled by this.

We had this discussion on the Direct side of this forum about Dish doing this as well. There was a person who wanted a list of HD channels by both Direct and Dish in order to accurately decide which provider was best for his particular taste. Direct has a list, but Dish does not. The best thing I found was this link posted by another poster on this forum.

Click the "Compare Dish Network and DirecTV HD Channels HERE" To view the table.

I e-mailed them about this. They said if all programs are in HD then they list it as full time. If most programs are SD and they still show most of the games in HD, they consider it Part Time. It is just their own defining characteristic. They do this so people don't turn to the channel expecting to see everything in HD.

They are an independent site not affiliated with any provider, even though they obviously favor Dish.

They are trying to hide something. I called customer service when I noticed that they had changed their website. NOBODY THERE COULD GIVE ME A LIST OF THE NATIONAL HD CHANNELS THAT THEY OFFER!!! I finally sent Dish an email letting them know how stupid it was that they were actively trying to hide their HD content from new and present customers. They emailed me back telling me that they had mailed a list of their HD channels to my physical address. This way I will be the only one that knows that Direct has more.

I find it interesting that Dish has said for the longest time that they have a certain number of HD channels. Once Direct added a bunch (will add at least 10 more within the next couple of weeks) they now say they have over 70. Funny thing is, except for TBS and a couple of other stations, they haven't added anything new and yet their count went up by 10+. Yet they still don't provide a list of these HD channels. Looking at the link I provided (thanks to another user on this site) I only 65 for Dish and 73 for Direct. How do they claim more?
