Default Hopper 3 Freezes Playing 4K stream

My Hopper 3 will freeze playing a 4K YouTube live stream, but my Hisense Smart TV will play them. Why the problem with Hopper?

OK Inyoureyes Went to your link.
I still don't understand what is going on.
Let me put it another way: Why does my Hopper 3 play YouTube 4K videos fine, but will not play streaming 4K, or webcams, without freezing?

Have you contacted/spoken to Dish support?
If so, what did they say?

Perhaps live streaming buffers differently?
Not enough bandwidth for "live"?

InYourEyes2:
- The Dish lady I talked to made it sound like there was a systemic problem that Dish engineers would have to address.

Why no problem with my Hisense TV? Same internet connection. Hopper freezes even with ethernet cable connection.

People: Let me propose a test. Can anyone with their Hopper 3, watch On YouTube, "Cornell Feeder Watch" Live, without it freezing up in 15 sec.? Mine ALWAYS does. I am at 20 Meg/Sec.

Thanks,
Mike

Is the Hisense using a Hopper3 or just a direct internet/ethernet feed?
If a smart TV with no Hopper... maybe the Dish lady is correct.

Inyoureyes2:

Hisense is not using the Hopper.
I have used the Hopper Via WiFi and ethernet, it freezes both ways.

I'd go back to Dish and escalate to speak with someone at a higher level of "technical support" or the engineers.

Inyoureyes2:

- Dish is now putting in a "work order", or whatever they call it, to notify engineering about this problem.
- Thanks for your help. :-)

Hopefully you were provided a ticket/incident number for follow-up.
I'd call them every 24hrs. to make sure of attention and status update(s).

Good luck.
