Default Left Dish after 13 years

During the summer I upgraded from the original Hopper to the Hopper 3. As soon as it was installed I noticed that the 4X fast forward option was gone, and 15X fast forward was now the slowest FF option. For 13 years I used the 4X FF function to watch 3 hour baseball games in about 25 minutes. It was slow enough that I could see every pitch, but fast enough so the wife wouldn't yell at me for watching 162 games a year.

I called Dish to have them return my original Hopper. They said they could, but that the Hopper 3 interface was going live on all of their receivers via a web update soon. I immediately canceled.

They offered me all sorts of promos to stay, but Dish took my sports away from me. I canceled without hesitation. Don't get me wrong, the Hopper 3 is awesome. But until Dish brings back the 4X FF, I'll never come back.

Switched to Spectrum, which is awful in my area. I have HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax, and none of them are in HD. I live in a very rural area. Their receiver also seems to be technology from the turn of the century. However, I got myself a Tivo Roamio Pro with lifetime service for $400. Tivo Roamio Pro and Bolt are fantastic. I may even prefer them to the hopper as they have Netflix, HBO Go, Vudu, Hulu, and many other apps built right into them. They also have a full commercial skip function that you can use immediately once the show has been recorded. Tivo almost makes Spectrum bearable. It has an excellently smooth 4X FF function as well!

Has anyone else left Dish due to the recent absence of the 4X FF? Or does nobody else care nearly as much as I do?

Having just switched to Dish from DTV because I liked some of the up to date features, I was also disappointed to find only a 30 second fast forward or the new 15x fast forward. DTV had several fast forward speeds that I used extensively to FFWD commercials. 15x is just too fast, and the 30 second option either under or overruns the ads.

Compared to my TiVo Bolt, the only thing the H3 has going for it is the 16 tuners vs the Bolt's 4.

The Bolt has 30% fast play with audio (plays an hour program in about 35 minutes after skipping commercials) in addition to 4X and 15X FWD, has a one button commercial skip on completed recordings (not neutered like Dish by CBS, etc), can skip to the next 15 minute block of a recording and do all sorts of other neat playback tricks.

16 tuners is a pretty big perk, but it seems like about 50% overkill to me.
