Default Fog and Signal Loss

This move to NC and the eastern arc satellites just isn't working out. Experiencing "Complete Signal Loss" off/on on most channels, especially locals and in the early evening. During the day the signal is much more stable. We have persistent fog here and that really seems to increase the frequency of the loss. The same tech has been out here twice for switch issues and swears everything checks out fine. An older DISH installation down the street pointing at the western arc has no issues. Thankfully the local Internet provider is laying fiber optic cable in our area so it looks like we'll give DISH up after a great 11 years until now.

Today for the first time ever while watching a football game, it started raining cats and dogs. The picture blinked a couple of times and then came back up with a SD format. The rain then stopped, but the SD picture remained.

After several minutes of SD, I was getting a tad torqued. For some reason, I clicked down one channel and then immediately back up to the football game where the picture then snapped back to HD.
