Hooking DVD to Dish 622 Receiver

I am trying to hook a DVD player to the Dish 622 receiver. I did not have luck in the first few minutes and just need to know if it is possible. Thanks,

No, it's not, Dish wants you to pay for their service. But, you can hook up an external hard drive, pay a one-time fee of $40 for DVR setup and do it that way.

Are you trying to play dvd through the receiver connections to the tv? or are you trying to record the programs off the dvr?

Dish receivers only have outputs, no inputs. This means you cannot play DVDs through your Dish receiver.

If you want to record from the Dish Equipment, just connect the receiver to your DVD/VHS RECORDER (not just a player, as they... cant record) as you would normally do, either through HDMI (bluRay burner) or RCA/Component/Composite.

I just wanted to play DVD's on my TV. I finally figured out that I did not have to use the 622 for this. I just hooked up the DVD player straight to the TV and it works fine and I do not involve the 622. Thanks
