Default Does this make it official enough for you about AMC

The July issue of the DISH magazine has AMC conspicuously absent. It is no longer being listed anywhere, and yet not a mention about it at all in the magazine. I guess DISH thinks if they don't say anything, no one will notice.

So, as of July 1, we will never see AMC again. Once DISH drops a channel, it never comes back.

Once the mass exodus happens, will DISH bring it back, or just go bankrupt rather than admit they were wrong.

Well, now that this issue is closed, what do you think they will drop next?

Bankrupt over 1 channel? Aside from a few shows, it's not a "big" channel.

FYI -

I'm talking to dish now (new service) and they are claiming it's simply a channel change. I've saved the conversation, of course.

Default Really Angry with Dish

I am one of Dish's high-end customers in that I take practically everything they have to offer. I get really angry when they arbitrarily remove channels I expect to be there when I signed up for a particular package. Expecially when all of my favorite shows are on AMC. Well the good news is I can get the programming in other ways and when I do, bye, bye to them. Been sitting on the fence post for a long time thinking about looking at different ways to get programming i.e streaming video, Roku, etc. instead of linear channels. I guess now they are forcing my hand.

What a stupid and unethical way of doing business.

If Dish drops AMC, shouldn't they lower their rate for the package which contains it?

Dish will give something to replace the missing channel. They will not lower the price.

Default Found new options to Dish

I have now found some new options to getting the programming I want for less money. Now it will be up to Dish to keep on AMC or I will take my 160/month for the Hopper and two Joey's plus Dish's America's Everything and Sports packages and use that money for other vendors. And I will never go back to them ever.

Anger satisfied.

Anyone interested and I can tell you how to replace Dish for 1/2 the cost.

I was liking the show "The Walking Dead". without AMC I now have to wait for the DVD Season to see it. Thanks a lot Dish!

The only way to make up for this IMO is to add 1 of the HBO Channels to the 250 package.

Just an interesting observation, but the guide listings for all AMC channels continue on into July. That probably doesn't mean anything, though, since they still needed to list them until July 1.

I find it hard to believe that no one here seems to care about missing the final, and probably best season of "Breaking Bad".

I just think that not that many subscribers know what is going on, but after July 1, they certainly will, so the lines for calling in about anything will be jammmed. If you plan on leaving you ought to do it now, since it may be quite a while before you would be able to get through after July 1.

I would assume most of us here know of other ways to watch shows aside from what pops up from Dish Network. Aside from the obvious (iTunes) there are plenty of other avenues.

I signed up for the 200 channel plan, but if AMC is dropped, I'll go down to the 120 and save myself $10 a month. That $10 a month will easily pay for Breaking Bad if I choose to pay to watch.

Default Dish Replacement

A combination of Roku with Hulu Plus, Netflix and Amazon Video plus other stuff and direct network website access or through Side Reel will get you most everything. The cost, about 30 - 40 dollars/ month total and you replace practically all Dish content.

See, now they made me look and I got smart. Dumb move Dish.
