What dma are you in? That would determine whether you need a 1000.2 or 1000.4 dish. There is no 1000.1 dish.

What does dma have to do with determining which arch (East or West) he wants a a dish for?

Locals may only be one one arc. Dma may determine which dish he should have.

The simplist answer is to have wilardg contact a local dish network instalation tech and ask which arc he is using to install HD for wilardg's area. If tech uses Eastern Arc then he needs a 1000.2 dish. If tech uses Western Arc then he needs a 1000.4 dish. Since wilardg is new to this he may not know what acronym "dma" stands for. I am not even sure I know. Something "? marketing area" I think.

I stand corrected. I did in fact transpose dish numbers. You are correct. What is correct forum etiquette in a situation like this? Should I go back and correct my original post?
