Default remote help with 512...doesnt make sense

ok i know its the same as a 522 with no tv2 output, which is nice, cause it retains the dual tuner feature without an extra charge....still costs me $10 a month though...what a crock...

why cant it use an rf signal?? i used to use 5 or 6 platinum remotes on my 510D, but they wont work on the 512, there has to be rf stuff inside this thing, is it just disabled?? why would they do that.

Is there any other option or remote to go rf with a 512?

Hello, my name is Daniel Busa with Dish Network's customer service. You can absolutely us an rf remote for your 512 reciever. You will however need a uhf antannae and a model 6.3/6.4 remote. Once you have that you need to set it up in the menu, to get into it just hit menu 6-1-6.
