I don't think that any of these service providers could provide all channels.

Thinking of moving over to Direct from the dark side and this is exactly the information I'm looking for. Without AMC HD I might just wait.

Default Amc hd

I asked customer service about AMC HD, and they had no idea when this would be added. Both Mad Men and Rubicon are very good shows, but for now we are stuck with standard definition TV for those shows. Since Dish already has this you would think Direct TV would be anxious to add this as well.

That list is way out of date. Here's an update, to the best of my knowledge. There may be some changes that I'm missing, but I've verified all the changes I've made (possible false negatives, unlikely false positives):

ESPNU HD - Yes
The Travel Channel HD - Yes
WGN America HD - Yes
G4 HD - No
FOX Movie Channel HD - No
HSN HD - No
E! Entertainment Television HD - No

Hallmark Movie Channel HD - Yes (HD Only)
Mav TV HD (also not available in SD) - No
RFD HD - No
QVC HD - No
Lifetime HD - Yes
Lifetime Movie Network HD - No
WE tv HD - No
TV One HD - No
Wealth TV HD (also not available in SD) - No
AMC HD - No
IFC HD - No
Flix HD (East) - No
Flix HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
HBO2 HD (East) - Yes
HBO2 HD (West) - No
HBO Signature HD (East) - No
HBO Signature HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
HBO Family HD (East) - No
HBO Family HD (West) - No
HBO Comedy HD (East) (also not available in SD) - No
HBO Comedy HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
HBO Zone HD (East) (also not available in SD) - Yes (HD Only)
HBO Zone HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
HBO Latino HD (East) - No
HBO Latino HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
MoreMax HD (East) - No
MoreMax HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
5StarMax HD (also not available in SD) - No
ActionMax HD (East) (also not available in SD) - No
ActionMax HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
OuterMax HD (also not available in SD) - No
ThrillerMax HD (East) (also not available in SD) - No
ThrillerMax HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
WMax HD (also not available in SD) - No
@Max HD (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime 2 HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No (East Only)
Showcase HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime Extreme HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No (East Only)
Showtime Beyond HD (East) (also not available in SD) - Yes
Showtime Beyond HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime Family Zone HD (East) (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime Family Zone HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime Next HD (East) (also not available in SD) - Yes
Showtime Next HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
Showtime Women HD (East) (also not available in SD) - Yes (HD Only)
Showtime Women HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
The Movie Channel HD (West) - No (East Only)
The Movie Channel Xtra HD (East) (also not available in SD) - Yes (HD Only)
The Movie Channel Xtra HD (West) (also not available in SD) - No
Encore HD (East) - Yes
Encore HD (West) - No
Fuse HD - No
Outdoor Channel HD - No
World Fishing Network HD (also not available in SD) - No

So that pares the list down to 47, or 40 if you discount the disingenuous distinction between east versus west channels.

Can we either update the first post, or else un-sticky this thread entirely.

Any word on History International HD? That would be a welcome addition. Especially since regular History HD pretty much sucks 8alls now.

Also, what about ION HD? I'd love to see my Criminal Minds reruns in HD.

Hey Tomcat. Not sure why everyone is getting up in your grille about your original post. As a DTV user with HD, I don't think it is unfair to expect that if a channel is included in your package, that you would have access to the SD AND HD versions of that channel. Thanks for the informative list and good job not letting the haters get to you.
