The credit or debit card that you provide for this order today may incur non activation, early cancellation and/or equipment non-return fees, should you fail to activate the equipment, cancel your service before fulfilling your agreement and/or fail to return leased equipment." exact word for word VERBAL AGREEMENT with DTV

I have had DTV for a little over a year now, but when the installer came out, he had no papers, nothing to sign. I have never signed a contract so guess I can cancel anytime i want. My sister just switched to Dtv and she signed a contract, I dont get it. Im glad tho.

Where did you sign up for service? Did you get your receivers from a retail outlet or from DirecTV because no matter where you get it you are prompted to sign a confirmation which is actually the contract. I am willing to bet almost anything that if you tried to call up today and cancel you would be hit with an early Termination Fee.
