You're a friggin cheap ass who feels like D* should not profit.

What the hell do you think they are in business for, free hand outs?

Let's face it, it they were not AT LEAST somewhat competitive, they would not be the no. 1 sat. provider. They would have eventually faded away, and Dish would take over as no. 1. Cry if you must, but just try to find better.

They also have some awesome customer service, is that worth anything to you?

I'm a $100.00+/month sub., so I've shopped around, and believe me when I tell you that you get more bang for your buck with D*

Instead of posting your electronic tears here, and trying to justify them with even more ignorance, do as the others say and go to cable or somewhere else, you DO have options.

Do yourself a favor, stop posting on this subject, you're only making yourself look worse each time.

And no, I'm not going to read your BLOG, especially after reading your crap-ola here. I have my own, and read plenty of others written by people with common sense. So I choose not to go there, just as you should choose not to have D* as your provider.

If your BLOG is where you vent, then go vent there to the people who actually give a crap.

The more he comes off as an anti-capitalists Marxists victim of the free market and his own choices.

I currently live inside of a town, I have TWC and RoadRunner for internet.

In December, I am moving to the country. There is no cable providers of anykind. No cable interent, No DSL.

The ONLY CHOICE is DirectTV for television. Even Dishnetwork is spotty in the area.

As for internet, I can either go with Dial-up at only 26k or get WildBlue.

DTV and WildBlue are the only choices at all. There is nothing else. I am going with these two as my only other option is nothing at all.

I guess I could go with Dial up at 26k and throw an antenna on the roof and get two channels.

Not that this is this guys situation, but in many places there is no choice of providers. Also, the town I live in, TWC is the only choice, there is no DSL or comcast or anything like that. You either take TWC or you get a Dish. We do not have the luxury of choices like the big cities do.
He's in Tuscon, I'm SURE he has choices there.

Also, if he would have looked online like most of us do, then he would see what the package offers BEFORE committing to anything.

My time spent getting something new usually will be me at the keyboard researching online while talking to a rep. That way I get what they claim, and vice versa.

I know I am an easy prey for Direct TV. Last month I realized that my cable company never installed a filter when I downgraded from TV/Internet to just Internet.

Bottom line is that I get 80% of my D* channels for free just by plugging a TV into the Internet cable using splitters.

So , I'm paying 90.00 a month for HBO/StarZ and Hi Def. When I add in $360 for Superfan just to watch the Eagles, I probably qualify for needing some serious therapy. I'm like a beaten spouse who keeps coming back for more.

True, he prob does have choices and yes he should have done some research. But at the same time, I can understand his confusion. He gets a package, even if he looks online and sees the package he gets, to the quick look he probably didn't notice there were less channels now. I don't blame him for not spending an hour flipping through his tv and comparing every channel to that of what is depicted online. Like him, I too would assume that if I have the family package, and I see the family package online, I wouldn't know there have been changes made to it.

It just would have been nice if the DTV rep would have recognized that he had a grandfathered plan and that the Family package has changed and now has less channels to it than when he first signed up for it.

I cannot comment on his attitude though. I can just see his fristration, how was he supposed to know his plan has changed??? Maybe DTV should send out letters to customers when plans change and let them know about it??? Obviously this guy has been a customer for some time, atleast they could do is let him know the plan he has had for the last x number of years has changed.

I'm sure all the proper attempts were made to inform this guy, and those attempts were promptly thrown in the trash.

To you, I say thank you for affirming that DirecTV among others gets rich lying to people. I am not the first or last person they will chew up and spit out. But if I leave a bad taste however fleeting, I have succeeded. And if I earned epithets of contempt from the semi-literates among you, it was worth getting up this morning. --Tom H
PS: If it's OK to plug my blog, thomashjr.blogspot.com is where I do the serious venting. Have at it and leave rude comments there rather than muddy these waters.
If you scroll up to the top of the screen you will see that it says "High Def Forum" and you're posting that you don't like High Def. Why here? A High Def Forum should be the last place you would come to.
