Default No HD Symbol on Guide?

I'm sure this has been asked & answered but why is there no HD symbol box on some of the new channels? I'm watching Fargo tonight on TMCHD. There is no symbol on the guide but clearly it is a beautiful HD picture. I've noticed it on some of the new Starz as well. Why no guide symbol when it sure looks HD?

Try resetting your receiver so your guide updates.

A lot of the new HD channels have HD programming that does not have the HD symbol. My guess is that this will improve over the next few weeks as the channels improve the quality of their guide data. SciFi for example seems to have the same guide data for the HD and SD channels (at least they did yesterday).

I also noticed that Sci-Fi had their HD bug on the screen only during the 9 p.m. first run episode of Ghost Hunters, when it was clearly an SD program, so mistakes happen. All the other episodes had the regular bug, which I've noticed all stations do when they're not broadcasting HD.

Guide updates happen automatically, you do not need to reset or do anything to get them.

I should mention that the SD programming on the HD channels appears to be nicely upscaled to 1080i. It sure looks better to me than the programming on the SD channels.

It will , because it's not over compressed like the SD channels are. See http://www.highdefforum.com/showthread.php?t=53792

Then dont reset your box, I could care less if you think resetting your box dose nothing for the guide. Your wrong but pls do continue to be wrong. It downloads the software automatically but sometimes after a download you do need to reset the receiver for it to apply properly.

I think it looks HD because it is HD. TMC programs and a lot of Starz movies are not symboled as HD but they certainly look HD to me. Somebody tell me I'm wrong.
