Default Profiles get messed up.

I have a Samsung HD receiver with a Panasonic HD 47 in tv. I notice that new channels are continually and mysteriously added to my existing channel profiles that I have set up in the receiver. They seem to be mainly sports or movie channels. I find this infuriating as I believe my profiles should be sacrosanct. Can I have this fixed or perhaps get a new receiver? Thanks.

My Samsung TS-160 does that all the time. It's an HD Directv receiver.

Directv is always adding new channels and removing them. When a new sports package shows up - they show up on my channel guide.

Eventually after deleting them as they appeared, it finally stopped (meaning I do not think I see the same channel reappear again once deleted - just another channel appears - like roaches).

Default Changing Profiles

I don't think it has anything to do with your brand of receiver or hdtv. I believe the good folks at D* want to earn revenue from every advertiser willing to pay them to insert their channel every half hour or so.

In my "Custom Guide" which I agree should be sacrocanct, I keep finding Gem Shopping Network, or an infomercial channel, and sometimes a pay per view channel, and of course the DTV info channel. I dutifully remove them every time, but the next time the receiver powers up, they're back.

I asked a D* representative about it once, and she seemed not to understand what I was talking about. I'd like to see it stop, though.
