Default 771 loss signal notification

I have Direct TV HD system and I'm getting a 771 loss signal notification every night at 7:30 while I'm watching the TV and it's clear calm weather with no obstructions! I can get it to go away by changing channels up or down but it comes right back! Some times it flashes on and off but mostly stays steady. And if I do nothing eventually the screen goes blank with the Direct TV logo moving about! This goes on for a couple of hours and the it stops! I've changed the LNB but it still starts showing the 771 signal loss at 7:30! Anyone have this happen or know
what the answer is? Thanks Peter

It could be what is called "Sun fade" Or Sun outage" this happens twice a year.

This is when the Sun gets behind the satellite, or in front of the dish, and only at certain times in the spring or fall. (late spring or early fall)

The times are predicted by your location and what satellite(s) your looking at.

Did this just start to do this?

Hi, Folks.

Just moved this thread to the appropriate section. Best of luck figuring out your signal issues. Hopefully DirecTV can help you.

I would suggest you look at all your outside (exposed) RG6 Connectors inspect for weather damage-- When the temp is up inside lead will expand -- at night when it cools it's shrinks and can cause your issue.
