Default Low Volume When Streaming

I was wondering why streaming video is quieter than regular Directv programming. It seems to be especially quiet on those programs that you might use the return arrow and start a program from the beginning. Netflix, Vudu and Amazon Prime might be somewhat quieter, but the streaming programs on Directv are clearly much quieter. Any explanations?

you might look at your receivers sound settings - Look at Effects -does it change anything.

I have not noticed any sound difference on my end and I have everything set to high

I believe the dynamic range is set to auto. I, just this weekend, replaced my receiver with a Yamaha that I set up automatically with the Yamaha YPAO. It's like 15 dB difference. I am probably too concerned.....just curious as to why streaming might be so different. Probably just the fact it's streaming through the internet.

One way to compare -would be to Connect your receiver Direct to the TV and see if the volume changes? if it does then that would possibly point to a setting in the "NEW" Avr -Just a thought
I have mine running though a sony 1080 Avr -Not that it matters just FYI

The setting in the AVR would be something like "PASS THROUGH" for video and audio - it may be damping the audio before passing it -Just another random thought
