I was a new subscriber last year and got the freebie Sunday Ticket. Was great, but I didn't watch it enough to pay for it this year.
About a month ago I called and cancelled it. Today I received my next bill (7/12/17 to 8/11/17) and it had $46.99 first payment on it for Sunday Ticket. Immediately called and after waiting several minutes I got a agent who looked at my account and confirmed Sunday Ticket was cancelled a month ago. She claimed she ONCE again cancelled Sunday Ticket and I that I would get a $46.99 refund on my next bill in August. After running though all that back and forth, she transfered me to someone else who also confirmed my Sunday Ticket was cancelled. Last month when I cancelled, I got the usual routine "Oh, we can give you $5, $10 or something else" off for renewing Sunday Ticket. At least this time I didn't have to waste my time with that routine again. I ordered Directv through Costco and was given a special Costco only number for Directv. I think the number was 800.531.5000. For my money, Sunday Ticket is a PITA if you're not that wild about it. |

That number you got is the regular customer service number. I managed to get free Sunday Ticket too but I cancelled it as soon as the season was over so that they didn't charge me again.

Yes, Once you have ST you need to stay on top of cancel time - once the season starts your toast! so paying attention to your bill before then is a must.

They said they they would refund the $47, but I'm still pissed that I had to waste my time once again over this manner. FIRST time I've ever had a problem with DTV in probably 10-15 years of service. |

Now, I know what you're thinking! The ONLY reason I selected Dish is that for about the same price, it offers the Pac12 network which DTV refuses to provide. Everytime I speak with a DTV person, its "Any day now, just hang tough". While I'm not sure, I think it's been about 7 years of "just hang tough". Well, I stayed with Dish longer than my contract (about 3 years), but I missed DTV. So back to DTV and for my Pac12 network, I sign up for Sling during football season. AND I got a $300 Costco cash card for coming back to DTV as well + a year of Sunday Ticket to boot. If I remember correctly, Sling is 25 smacks a month so it cost me 100 of them for Sept-Nov. If I had to, I would rather give it to DTV. And if I had to go to a bar to watch a game on the Pac 12, for 2 people, it's about $100 for food and beer, so I guess I'm making money by going the Sling route. ![]() |
