Default TV One

I can't get a straight answer from DTV/ATT since you can no longer email them. You can only tweet them and receive canned answers where your name is inserted. My TV One says TV One HD on the screen. But it clearly is displaying a SD picture. What gives, is this channel actually offered in HD by DTV?

TVone is only available on DirecTV in SD, but the channel is delivering their HD picture which has HD as part of the channel ID/logo.

Thanks, very confusing, especially since the HD logo is new, so is the letter boxing. Other SD only channels on DTV aren't letter boxed.

Thankfully now Directv delivers an HD feed to us from TV One that shows truly as HD.

Well, I as one of DTV's African American consumers don't think TV One HD is junk and enjoy the channel and its programming.

This thread started with a bitch around TV One being shown only in SD and now it's in HD.

Then troller "Hdb91xg" popped up with his "DTV is a piece of junk" BS. I suspect "Hd..." is NOT a TVD subscriber and only here to rant.

Another commenter rapped about SD shows being shown in letterbox. For the uninformed, ALL SD is 4 X 3 format and WILL be letterboxed unless the picture is zoomed in (which to me is worse than letterbox).

As for me, I have WAY too many sources for video where not too long ago, it was just DTV. Now...

DTV
Amazon Prime
Netflix
Apple TV
Sling (fall only to view Pac12 since DTV refuses to make a deal)

All of these sources provide some video that I find worthwhile.

I can well understand if a person had no interest in LIVE sports, DTV would be a prime candidate to cancel. Also, I would be losing access to local NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS and FOX.

So I guess I won't be cutting any cable until the Lord cuts mine.

Note, a subscription to DTV without HBO or other addons cost less per day that a Starbucks coffee and for those few left 1 pack a day smokers, less than a half pack. Then there's drinking...

One final thought. Not sure if I'll ever go back to channel 328 (TV One) after just checking it out, but it did have one of my old favorite shows "Sandford and Sons" that I might like to see again if I can find time with all my other video options. I saw Red Fox doing "standup" about a million years ago (1978?).
