Default DTV vs AT&T DTV

I needed a new remote because one of my RC72 was struggling with the pause/play button. I called and it was like I as talking to Time Warner, my internet provider.

The user experience was nothing like I have been used to as a 20 year DTV subscriber. I feel that the party is over.
DTV is Changing. They did not treat me as a valued customer , I was not treated lke I was in The past. Is it just me?

One other thing, it was Labor Day when I called and th all may have been picked up by an overseas call taker.

Anyone else noticing a difference?

In my personal experience, if you are "deserved" something, they will be more than happy to oblige. For example, I have the protection plan on my account and my remote broke. They said no problem and immediately shipped a replacement and informed me I can upgrade my receivers to genies when ready. In the past, I've called and asked if there were any discounts or promotions I've been eligible (or on my parent's account) and they'd give like a $5 credit for six months or $20 off Sunday ticket...nothing major, but for a long-term customer, they would hook you up to help you out or keep you happy. I've inquired twice this year about a discount and once about Sunday Ticket and basically told there's nothing we can do for you and immediately try to sell me HBO or Cinemax and get me off the phone because I'm not interested in INCREASING my package. For me, I just feel it's like "don't bother me" or "I'm not helping you get a discount"
