Default Remotes for Genie HR44-200

I have a new Genie HR 44-200 & 2 C51-100's other than the RC 71 which I don't like. I like the feel of the older remotes since I have arthritis and it is not easy to get around on the smaller remote. What RF Remotes can I use with the HR 44 200 Genie? Do I need the same remote with all boxes? I was told the RC66RX would work with the genie, is it an RF remote.

First - Welcome to the site

The RC66RX - is an RF Remote-However it won't work in that mode for the genie as that remote use a different RF code than the genie THat's why the remote changed for the genie and Mini's -

You can use it in IR mode - to control the genie (Not sure) about the mini's as I don' have any of those.

If you don't have a direct line of site for IR - you can add a IR Signal repeater (google for more info) That's how I use my RC66 for my Hr44-200 - Using that I also enabled (turned on) HDMI Control - so when I turn on the TV -it turns on all connected equipment at the same time- The genie has the same option in menu settings - Check your other equipment manuals for HDMI control setting and more info.

^Thanks for the prompt reply and the info. Can you state the brand of IR Repeater or is that against the rules? That might be the best way to go. I don't really need IR for each box but would you have to have an IR repeater for each box if you wanted IR for each box?

I use this (see Link) you put the ir -receiver (in the open) and attach one of each lead to the ir window of each receiving equipment-You can just one or all four.

This may be a little late but wanted to reply anyway. I have been told the RC66RX IR/RF Remote will work. Here is the process I am going to follow. Will try it tonight and report back.

The RC66RX can work in RF mode to control HR44. I have both. In fact, I just got the RC66RX remote, and I had to set this remote to RF mode for my HR44 receiver. I followed the following instructions.
1.Press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
2.Enter 9 6 1
3.Press CHAN up
4.Enter last 6 digits of the Receiver ID number, found on a sticker in the access card compartment
5.Press SELECT

Find the HR44 receiver ID from logging into your online account and looked under My Equipment, and click on Details associated with the HR44 receiver I have. Then, the remote can control my HR44 in RF.

Sorry, it won't work. As already posted, the ONLY remotes that will work in RF with the HR44 are the RC7x remotes. They will work in IR.

Default Remotes

I just got this update today 3/31/16?

I have been using the RC66 remotes since right after I posted this, they have been working just fine. Trying to find codes for some auxiliary things like Audio Video speakers like my Samsung HW-FM45C was a bitch but I got it done so I could get it done and control it suing the RC66. I couldn't get the correct code so I took the remote to my Nephews' house cause he had the old 24 DVR and that had the codes for almost everything in the world listed in the settings. Some of you may remember it as I had one before I made the mistake of upgrading the Genie. Remember if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Wish I had taken my own advice and I would still have that actually 2 of those 24 DVR's. Anyway The RC 66 and I suspect other remotes will also wok as mine has for the last yr and the RC77's still sit in the drawer.

No Reason you can't swap out one of the mini's for a HR24 - Thats the only 2 Tuner D* Offered at this time - Call and do it.
